Jeroen Bodewits (1971-2014) born in Rotterdam was a photographer, screen printer and installation artist. He studied at the Academy of Art and Design St. Joost in Breda and at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam. Bodewits had a great affinity with Russia, the country he travelled to almost every year since 2005. The contrasts he encountered there inspired much of his work. In 2014 he died in a traffic accident. During his suddenly ended career, Bodewits convincingly proved himself and exhibited at home and abroad. His work was on display at gallery Bob Smit, gallery XX Multiple and gallery Ron Mandos, including during the KunstRai, Raw Art Fair, Manchester Contemporary and E/AB Fair in New York.
