Beautiful etching by the Belgian architect and graphic artist Jules Van Paemel (1896–1968)

He was born in Blankenberge and studied architecture and drawing at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent and later in Brussels. His artistic career included a wide range of etchings, often with landscapes and imaginative compositions full of unusual animals and figures.

Van Paemel's work was internationally recognized and can be found in collections in cities such as Paris, New York and Warsaw. Some of his well-known works include The Tower of Babel (1933) and The Monster of the Scheldt (1935). He was also friends with the famous artist James Ensor, who admired him for his talent.

Dimensions: 32.5x39.5cm and with frame 56x75cm and glass plate

ATTENTION: the etching is not nicely framed, this can be done better with a passe partout. The etching is also glued to the underlying cardboard, but outside the plate edge.

Due to the size and the glass, the artwork can preferably be collected in Maastricht (NL) or Brasschaat (BE)
