Prachtig, origineel werk van Kees (of Cees) Waning. Betreft een aquarel in werkelijk uitstekende staat. Het is zeer waarschijnlijk het IJ te Amsterdam.
LET OP: iets spiegeling in de foto's door het glas. Werk is dus in topstaat!
Kees van Waning was een leerling van Fr. Becker, daarna hoofdzakelijk van Johannes Bosboom. Later kreeg hij raad van Willem Maris. Kees van Waning schilderde, aquarelleerde en tekende landschappen, stadsgezichten, havens, rivieren en zeeën in een impressionistische stijl. Hij was lid van Pulchri Studio in Den Haag en van Arti et Amicitae te Amsterdam.
Toen Waning in Den Haag woonde, was het Willem Maris die hem aanmoedigde om buiten te werken. Het duingebied lag vlakbij. Hij had hiermee succes en verkocht al op jonge leeftijd goed. Zijn werk is te vinden in de collecties van het Haags Gemeentemuseum, het Rijksmuseum, het Dordrechts Museum en van het Frans Halsmuseum in Haarlem.
Werk van Waning is oa te koop bij de gerenommeerde kunsthandel zoals Mark Smit, Simonis en Buunk, Christies, etc. Hoef er niet de hoofdprijs voor te hebben maar graag bieden naar waarde. Zoals in de titel omschreven, het is museum kwaliteit!
