Beautiful, characteristic work by the first Dutch cubist Lodewijk Schelfhout. Drypoint etching on paper, signed in pencil, dated (1913), with the addition “2 st.” (the 2nd state of this etching) and with collector’s stamp Collectie Jeanne Oosting (!). Very neatly framed, behind glass, and with a spotless, acid-free passe-partout. Everything in very good condition. Literature: Catalogue des pointes-seches de Lodewijk Schelfhout no. 18.

Dimensions: 47cm x 37cm (incl. frame), 25cm x 20cm (inside passe-partout)

This etching is also in the collection of the Rijksmuseum:

This item is strongly preferred to be picked up but can be very well packed and sent by registered mail at the buyer's expense. Any glass breakage is at the buyer's risk.
When purchasing, a work of art can always be picked up in Diemen (near Amsterdam, a few minutes from the A10 ring road), but only by appointment. The period for collection is very generous; you can possibly pick up the work weeks or even months later and, if possible, combine it with a visit to (the area around) Amsterdam for other matters. In that case, you will of course save on shipping costs. The only exception to the above is that if the seller at any time decides to ship the work free of charge , this is binding, i.e. the work cannot be picked up in that case. This will only happen in exceptional cases and the buyer will not run any financial risk.
