Luc Hoenraet born in Aalst is an abstract painter of art brut, material painter, draftsman, etcher and lithographer. As a graphic designer he mainly creates logos and the layout of catalogues and art books. Education at Sint-Lucas Schaarbeek (M. Van Saene). Teacher at the RBK in Sint-Pieters-Woluwe (from 1970) and at the Academy of Etterbeek. Initially paints neo-expressionist, later spontaneous lyrical abstract as the painter of ordered chaos. Mixes paint with sand and introduces strange materials. Travels to New York with V. Gentils in 1980. Works in Paris and Brussels. Works in the Print Room in Brussels and in the Museum of Ostend (PMMK).
