Maurits Willem van de Valk , Amsterdam 1857-1935 Laren. Lived and worked in Amsterdam, Paris, Auvers sur Oise, Scherpenzeel, Amersfoort, Leiden and Laren. He himself took lessons from Agust Allebé, and later was a teacher of Pieter Dupont, Louis Hartz, Gerard Haverkamp, among others. His work is in the Rijksmuseum Print Room and the Frans Hals Museum. This work is signed in pencil, shows the date '28 vaguely at the bottom left, and bears a note: High barge in the Schinkel, Plate destroyed. (planche détruite). Old hard wooden frame in good condition with signs of wear.
The work is in good condition and is printed on watermarked paper. The Schinkel is the water area behind the Olympic stadium in Amsterdam that was already inhabited by many artists at the beginning of the 20th century.
