  • Large very rare etching from "One Brushstroke Series" (1976) with 2 pit-black stripes (18.0 x 2.0 cm - 38.0 x 0.8 cm).
  • Printed on handmade heavy wove paper (Arches)
  • Upper left right In pencil handsigned "Citlin" and numbered 14/47.
  • Condition: the -2- black images are perfect; the edges shown some "waves" (see photo's) wich can be moved with proper treatment. The dark spots on the photo's are shadows !

  • Michael Gitlin moved from Israel to New York in 1970. For him and other Israeli artists such as Joshua Neustein, Benni Efrat, and Buky Schwartz this was a moment that saw the outset of Post-Minimalism, a movement that opened Minimal art to the possibility of regaining expressive content, while still remaining within the domain of systemic form.
