With spray cans in hand, he 'freshens up' walls in Amstelveen, the village where he grew up. He later switched to the train and metro, becoming a big name in the region. Otto also trained for a short period at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. His first exhibition in the city in 1993 was a great success; the innovative nature of his work was striking and respected. He invested in a computer and a drawing program, and soon after, his very first orders for advertising campaigns for several leading companies started pouring in. Ottograph has worked for major brands including Ford, Mars, Mercedes, Nike, Playboy, Quote and Fanta. Highlights: The Museum of Modern Art of Antwerp (Belgium) is home to a gigantic Ottoman mural. Otto also painted murals in Moscow, Tokyo, Berlin, New York and San Francisco. Ottograph's contribution to street art extends beyond his own work, as he is also a community leader. He has organized several cooperative painting assignments and runs the website 'I Paint Everyday' to encourage the tedious but necessary practice of serious painting. Ottograph created Amsterdam's first real 24/7 outdoor street art gallery on Wijdesteeg, which became a huge hit on Instagram #wijdesteeg. In the spring of 2019, Ottograph started painting his self-portrait on the walls of Amsterdam. Otto recently painted an entire house in New York, and 3 murals in Lagos Nigeria. In 2022, Ottograph created a gigantic mural for the Street Museum in Amsterdam. Ottograph is currently converting an entire office building in East Amsterdam into one gigantic work of art. He paints both the inside and the outside of the building.
