Patrick Hughes (born 20 October 1939 in Birmingham) is a British artist working in London. He is the creator of "reverspective", an optical illusion on a three-dimensional surface (usually one or more truncated pyramids with a square base) in which the parts of the image that appear furthest away are physically closest.
Brief biography
Patrick Hughes was born in Birmingham, went to school in Hull and in 1959 to James Graham Day College, Leeds. He later taught at Leeds College of Art before becoming an independent artist. Hughes joined Robin Page's "Jape Art" movement. He has three sons by his first wife, Rennie Paterson, and was later married to the author Molly Parkin.
