The work came into my possession via an auction lot of Domeinen, with a number of special items in it, which I now offer for sale here. A large part of the acquired works can be traced back to the Patent Council in The Hague, including a number of portraits of men who have worked for this council. Mr. Donker Duyvis is one of the portrayed men who has worked very meritoriously for the Patent Council.
The work is in reasonably good condition as far as I can judge as a layman. The bottom of the work needs some love, see photo 5.
No certificate of authenticity was included and the work was not seen by a specialist. Determining who, what and where was done by researching it myself.
