Rien Potters - Wabi Sabi Traditional Tattoo

Rien Potters, old fellow student at the ABK in Rotterdam, refined painter - etcher - graphic artist. I bought this refined top work in about 1980 at an exhibition of Rien. Rien's work and symbolism particularly appealed to me as a creative concept man. Rien sought refined symbolic expressionist figures in his work with a theatrical resigned role in his work. All his works bear his directly recognizable style and symbolism of people in their passionate but inspiring role. In this painting, the Wabi Sabi, the almost erotic and romantic contrast, is wonderful to see. Now I am moving and partly gaining space, hence this special painting in the auction.
