Ruurd Hallema - Bronze sculpture

A bronze statue by the Dutch artist Ruurd Hallema (1954), entitled 'Adieu'.
The statue has a name sticker 'Ruurd Hallema Sculptor' on the bottom of the plinth.

Information about the artist:
Ruurd Hallema (Munstergeleen, January 25, 1954) is a Dutch sculptor and painter.
-Education: the City Academy for Applied Arts in Maastricht and the Academy for Visual Arts in Amersfoort. Here he studied Sculpture and the training for Teacher of Handicrafts and Art History.
He taught at the LTS Sint Paul in Almelo, the National Pedagogical Academy in Hengelo, the Edith Stein University of Applied Sciences in Hengelo and he taught the subject 'Industrial Product Design' at Saxion University of Applied Sciences.
-Technique: His work with plastically deformable materials such as plaster, clay and wax soon led to bronze casting. Parts of his work are patinated, which creates a dull appearance, other parts are polished so that this contrast makes the work more exciting. The artist is inspired by the female body and wings in both his figurative and abstract work.
On November 1, 2015, Ruurd Hallema held an anniversary exhibition in honor of his 40th anniversary as an artist. At the opening, he was appointed member of the Order of Orange-Nassau by King's Commissioner Ank Bijleveld.
