Shepard Fairey is een Amerikaanse street artist, grafisch ontwerper, activist en illustrator die opgekomen is vanuit de skate board scene. Hij is bekend geworden met zijn Andre the Giant Has a Posse” (…OBEY…) sticker campagne.
Hij kreeg wereldwijde bekendheid tijdens de presidentsverkiezingen van Amerika in 2008 voor zijn Barack Obama “Hope” poster. Het instituut van contemporary Art in Boston noemt hem een van de meest bekende en invloedrijke street artists. Zijn werk hangt ondermeer in het Smithsonian, het Museum of Modern Art in New York, de National Portrait Gallery in Washington en het Victoria and Albert Museum in Londen.
