Stanley Donwood is the pseudonym of Dan Rickwood (1968, Essex, England) and he is best known for his collaboration with the rock band Radiohead and its frontman Thom Yorke. Donwood studied at the University of Exeter where he met Thom Yorke and where they became close friends. He has been designing album covers and posters for both Radiohead and Yorke's solo projects since the mid-1990s, literally shaping the visual identity of the world-famous musicians. Donwood also frequently makes cheerful-looking illustrations with socio-political messages and autonomous work that recalls open spaces and desolate landscapes.
