Very rare piece from the first years of Tom's Drag (around 2004). The impressive work of art is called 'Dancer on ball' and is somewhat similar in style and design to the later Acrobat collection. Almost all his works are made of "marmorin". A special mixture of marble with resin, which forms a completely white substance, comparable to good quality ceramic. However, this unique piece is made entirely of iron plates and gold leaf. This makes this metal work by this artist very rare.

You will not easily find this piece of special work in this iron/gold leaf version for sale. Unfortunately, the piece is no longer in pristine condition, but this gives it a beautiful character with sublime shapes, especially the gold leaf. An asset that deserves a prominent place and is an eye-catcher in any interior.

“ THOMAS HOFFMANN 1956 - 2012 Tom's Drag was hilarious and with a lot of humor. The German designer Thomas A. Hoffmann loved bright colors and preferred to spend a lot of time in the Tropics. There he supported society by outsourcing the production of his company "Tom's company" as much as possible to small independent workshops. Tom also loved children and part of the profits go to children who receive little or no support from family members. He ensured that they had an education and good living conditions. You understand... you will not find child labor at Tom's company. How did this great, colorful series come about? In 2000, after the tragedy of the Twin Towers in New York, Tom made a series of statues and ornaments, intended as Christmas gifts for his friends. He hoped the idea would cheer his friends up again. It worked, his Christmas gifts were a huge success and his "Drag" gifts spawned a whole new series. Norma & Jean were the first cats to see the light of day in what he called the "Premier collection". After the Premier collection came the "Rainbow collection" which consists of various drag animals. For Tom, drag as in Drag-Queen and Drag-racing are concepts that stand for individualism, energy, enthusiasm and inspiration. Tom's Drags break all the rules and bring color and fun into your life. All sculptures are painted by hand and therefore all have their own energy and appearance. The life of a special artist came to an abrupt end in 2012.”
