painter
Education:
National school for art teachers in Amsterdam.
Lives and works Amsterdam
Reinier Lucassen is an important painter who represents the new figuration, a painting movement. From 1960 he has been active in the art painting world, and from that year he developed a figurative painting style. The basic principle of this style is that elements from everyday life are combined with abstract symbols. In addition to being a painter, Reinier Lucassen was also a senior teacher of painting at the AKI in Enschede.
Reinier Lucassen's most famous work is 'a cozy corner'. This painting has been on display for years as a small work on the trains of the National Railways. Reinier Lucassen often uses characters in his work that are typical of his personal style.
