Founded in 1947
From the very beginning, the Dutch Circle of Drawing Artists has had the same goal in mind, namely to draw attention to drawing as an autonomous art. This refers to drawing that is emphatically not made as a design, sketch or study for a 'better' work of art. In the beginning of its existence there were limitations regarding the use of color and line. Today, the Dutch Circle of Illustrators is very open to diverse subjects, materials and views.
