Gerd Arntz
(11/12/1900, Remscheid – 4/12/1988, Den Haag) was een Duitse modernistisch
kunstenaar en bekend voor zijn zwart wit hout- en linoleumsnedes. Hij maakte
deel uit van de Keulse progressieven (met onder meer Franz W. Seiwert en
Heinrich Hoerle). Gerd Arntz is vooral bekend als graficus. Hij ontwierp meer
dan 4000 pictogrammen (zie gerdarntz.org). Deze complete map is een uitgave van
Werner Kunze uit 1979 en bevat 7 ondertekende zeefdrukken op basis van vroegere
houtsneden.
