Maximiliaan Leo Hubert Maria (Max) Verboeket (1922 - 2015) was a Dutch graphic artist, industrial designer and teacher of applied arts. Max Verboeket grew up in Hoensbroek, Limburg. During the Second World War he was forced to go into hiding to avoid being sent to work in Germany. After the war he studied at the School of Applied Arts in Maastricht, the predecessor of the Academy of Fine Arts Maastricht. He then studied graphic design at the Jan van Eyck Academy. After his studies he went on study trips to Rome and Paris. In the period 1954-1972 he was a permanent employee at Kristalunie in Maastricht. He was the successor of Willem Jacob Rozendaal, although he had been away from the company for years. Verboeket designed a number of different glassware. The glassware "Carnaval", which was introduced in 1956, was the most successful. This was a coloured service, or at least the bowl was coloured. It was a very extensive service, with 22 different models. Each model was delivered per 6 pieces in 6 different colours. These 6 colours ensured unity. In 1958 Verboeket received the Signe d'Or Industriel, the gold medal of the Brussels Expo 58 for his glassware "Bouquet". Designs for vases and bowls became increasingly irregular in shape and colour in the 1960s. The irregularity reached its peak in the series "kristalunieKen". Verboeket became a teacher at the City Academy for Applied Arts in Maastricht (Academy of Visual Arts) in 1969.
