Thijs Mauve (1915-1996) was als kleinzoon van de beroemde Anton Mauve zelf ook bekend als

Hij was de kleinzoon van schilder Anton Mauve, één van de oprichters van de Larense School. Thijs volgde de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Den Haag. Zijn belangrijkste inspiratie en onderwerp was het landschap, dat van zijn woonomgeving in het bijzonder. In 1943 kwam hij naar Lunteren, waar hij zich na de Tweede Wereldoorlog vestigde. In 1979 verhuisde hij naar Devon aan de zuidkust van Engeland, waar hij in 1996 overleed.
